Arcadis is the world’s leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
Turnover: £3.3bn, Employees: 33,000 over 70 countries, Established: 1888.
Arcadis are a new client, this was the first assignment that we were provided following their appointment of the new Direct Procurement Director, who we’ve worked with for many years.
The newly appointed Direct Procurement Director’s first task was to support procurement activities for a high profile ecological contract on Sizewell C for client EDF.
A new hire was required to takeover this project so he could commence his global role.
AR Resourcing were appointed to recruit a Project Procurement Specialist to develop and deliver the procurement strategy for the Sizewell C ecological contract.
We were briefed to identify senior buyers or procurement managers with strong infrastructure subcontract procurement experience for projects. It was important that the successful candidate could run a complex project of this nature for a high profile client.
We provided Arcadis our Contingent (Plan 3) recruitment service, we worked alongside other agencies to identify, qualify and present suitable candidates.
We contacted our recently registered candidate network across all regional medium to large infrastructure contractors.
We also advertised the role on our website, LinkedIn, job boards and our Job Alerts candidate email to help identify additional candidates.
The challenge with this assignment was finding candidates of an appropriate calibre, as a lead role on the project we needed to identify candidates who had both strong subcontract procurement experience for infrastructure projects, together with the strength of character and gravitas to takeover this project from the Direct Procurement Director.
Three CVs were shortlisted within two weeks, two candidates were selected for interview and one was invited back for a final interview, then successfully offered and appointed.
