Their parent company Vinci Construction are an existing client, however this was the first assignment that we were provided with Taylor Woodrow.
This was a newly created position to help strengthen the northern buying team, following a restructure of the Taylor Woodrow, Eurovia Contracting North, South and SWH Contracting businesses.
AR Resourcing were appointed to recruit a Buyer to deliver materials and plant procurement across regional projects.
We were briefed to identify procurement professionals with at least 2 years direct materials procurement experience for construction, infrastructure or engineering projects.
We provided Taylor Woodrow our Contingent (Plan 3) recruitment service, we worked alongside other agencies to identify, qualify and present suitable candidates.
We contacted our recently registered candidate network across all local construction and engineering industries, this included main contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, and house builders.
We also advertised the role on our website, LinkedIn, job boards and our Job Alerts candidate email to help identify additional candidates.
The challenge with this assignment was finding candidates of appropriate calibre who had project procurement experience from construction, infrastructure or engineering contractors in South Yorkshire.
When interviewing candidates, we qualified how many projects they had been continuously managing over recent years, and the different types of operational challenges that they had experienced from project stakeholders.
Four CVs were shortlisted, all four of our candidates were selected for interview alongside other agency candidates, two were then invited back for final interview, and the preferred candidate was successfully appointed.
The client was particularly pleased that we identified candidates with multi project procurement experience from high profile main contractors.
