For over 10 years we’ve been part of Wates preferred supplier list for procurement and supply chain recruitment.
The newly appointed Group Supply Chain Manager was tasked with managing a transformation of the central buying and labour desks. Part of this strategy was to restructure and upskill the central procurement team.
AR Resourcing were appointed to recruit a Senior Buyer to strategically manage a portfolio of group material and equipment agreements.
We were briefed to identify senior buyers and strong buyers with a few years strategic procurement experience from any project based industry.
We provided Wates our Contingent (Plan 3) recruitment service, we worked alongside other agencies to identify, qualify and present suitable candidates.
We contacted our recently registered candidate network across a broad selection of project industries, this included construction, infrastructure, facilities management, house building, and consultancy.
We also advertised the role on our website, LinkedIn, job boards and our Job Alerts candidate email to help identify additional candidates.
The challenge with this assignment was finding candidates who had transferrable strategic procurement experience, and could move into a group role managing national category strategies. When interviewing candidates we asked for examples of creating new material contracts to ensure they had the appropriate experience.
Four CVs were shortlisted within three days, two candidates were selected for interview alongside other agency candidates.
Only our two candidates were invited back for a final interview, both candidates were offerable, and the preferred candidate was successfully appointed.
