Severfield are a new client, this was the first assignment that we were provided to trial our services. Following our success with this opportunity we have also successfully filled other procurement vacancies.
This was a newly created position to help strengthen the central procurement team, the Head of Group Procurement required a new hire to be based from their York office.
AR Resourcing were appointed to recruit a Procurement Manager to lead a small team, together with a portfolio of direct materials and services.
We were briefed to identify procurement professionals with at least 5 years direct materials procurement for large engineering or manufacturing companies.
We provided Severfield our Contingent (Plan 3) recruitment service, we worked alongside other agencies to identify, qualify and present suitable candidates.
We contacted our recently registered candidate network across all local construction industries, this included main contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, and house builders.
We also advertised the role on our website, LinkedIn, job boards and our Job Alerts candidate email to help identify additional candidates.
The challenge with this assignment was finding candidates of appropriate calibre from large complex engineering or manufacturing companies in the York area. When interviewing candidates, we qualified the depth of their European strategic sourcing experience and experience of managing small to medium sized procurement teams.
Four CVs were shortlisted within 10 days, three of our candidates were selected for interview alongside other agency candidates, two were then invited back for final interview, and the preferred candidate was successfully appointed.
The client was particularly pleased that we identified candidates across a broad range of engineering and manufacturing companies.
