  • Directly employ 1,300 people and provide regular work to around 800 contractors. They support 2.7 million customers across the north of England and are investing £1bn over the next 8 years to upgrade the regions gas network.

About the Job

Reason for vacancy
  • The Commercial Manager required three additional Quantity Surveyors to deliver projects across gas holder, minor works, reinstatement and backfill frameworks after Northern Gas Networks received a significant increase in workload across various frameworks.
Key responsibilities
  • To support the delivery of commercial and procurement strategies across a portfolio of regional frameworks.
Prospective candidate pool
  • Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors from relevant contractors or subcontractors, who can commute weekly to Leeds.
Candidate experience
  • Strong infrastructure project experience and post contract management experience of variations and claims to a high level.
Particular challenge
  • Maintain all candidates in the recruitment process in a competitive market. This was achieved because Northern Gas Networks recruited to an agreed interview process and moved quickly to offer.
