Senior Quantity Surveyor

A leading main contractor is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Reading.

The main objective of the role is to deliver a portfolio of regional projects as part of a major regional water upgrade framework.

Key duties will include:

  • Liaising with Project Managers on a day-to-day basis for the commercial administration of contracts to ensure the financial success of projects.
  • Preparing and/or approving draft subcontracts within the region, as well as assisting Project Managers in the administration of subcontractor performance management.
  • Submitting all relevant data required to monitor and analyse individual contract management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Consulting with Contracts Managers ensuring all necessary notices and submissions required by the various forms of contract are given in an expedient manner.
  • Further day-to-day commercial duties including submission of main contract payment applications, subsequent cash collection, preparation of subcontractor payments, and dispute avoidance and resolution.

Further Details

A portfolio of clean and wastewater projects, with works including refurbishment, replacement, and provision of new infrastructure across the Thames Valley region.

Responsible for multiple projects ranging in value up to £25m, with the average project value being c.£5m.

Reporting into a Commercial Manger and supporting a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will also mentor junior members of the commercial team.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors looking for a career move. They are also keen to see experienced Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression.

Minimum of 5+ years' commercial experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure upgrade frameworks or projects.

Ideally you will have experience in the water sector. Our client is also open to speaking to commercial professionals with a wider infrastructure background.

Experience of and strong working understanding of NEC forms of contract.

Relevant quantity surveying or commercial management degree desirable.
