Senior Quantity Surveyor

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their teams in London, Reading, or Swindon.

The main objective of the role is to deliver a portfolio of infrastructure upgrade works as part of a major regional water framework.

Key duties will include

  • Procuring and managing subcontractors through from agreement of terms and conditions to final account.
  • Managing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and other junior members of the commercial team.
  • Working closely with the operational teams.
  • Administering the bespoke principal contract made up of elements of NEC and I Chem E Burgundy Book, amongst others.
  • Managing change with both the client and subcontractors, throughout the Early Warning and Variation processes.
  • Producing and supporting the production of CVRs, applications for payment, and Cost Forecasts.
  • Monitoring of staff, material, plant, and other resources on site.

Further Details

Portfolio of projects as part of a major regional water upgrade framework. This is a high volume, lower value project environment where you will be managing multiple projects concurrently.

Example projects include replacement and abandonment of 65km of Water Mains, a Rising & Gravity Main, and a Trenches Crossing.

Managing and driving subcontractor performance on projects, and implementing actions as required.

Managing stakeholder relationships, as well as working closely with the client and operational teams to drive project success.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors looking for a career move. They are also keen to see experienced Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression.

Minimum of 5+ years' commercial experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure or general civil engineering projects or frameworks.

Experience of and strong working understanding of NEC forms of contract.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, subcontractors and clients.

Relevant quantity surveying or commercial management degree desirable.
