Senior Buyer

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer.

The main objective of the role is to lead subcontract procurement activities across regional projects, you will:

• Support a Procurement Manager in delivering various project procurement strategies.
• Manage planned and reactive end to end subcontract procurement.
• Manage occasional major material procurements.
• Work with project teams to deliver procurement requirements.
• Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project strategies.

Experienced subcontract procurement professionals will be responsible for running the full end-to-end subcontract procurement process for packages valued up to £5m across civils and highways.

For those less experienced material or short form subcontract buyers who are looking to transition into a full subcontract procurement role, you will start by supporting with reactive lower value, lower complexity subcontract packages up to £200k, while you acquire the relevant skills and experience.

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer or an up-and-coming Materials Buyer who is keen to learn subcontract procurement as full training can be provided with this role.

Ideally you will have 1+ years' subcontract procurement experience from any contractor.

You will have experience of managing projects across infrastructure, construction or MEP.
