A leading regulated infrastructure contractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Leeds.

The main objective of the role is to support the delivery of commercial requirements for a portfolio of capital works projects in the region.

Key duties will include:

  • Preparing internal commercial reports and undertaking monthly accruals and forecasting for the business.
  • Challenging & managing cost control, providing cost mitigation measures where appropriate.
  • Undertaking contract administration (primarily NEC Option A fixed priced contracts), including change management and maintaining associated registers.
  • Negotiating and agreeing of change events, extension of time claims, final accounts within the timescales required.
  • Managing projects in accordance with internal budgets, following the processes for increasing sanction where required.
  • Assisting with the negotiation and agreement final accounts.
  • Establishing, building, and maintaining strong working relationships with contractors.
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.

Further Details

Working in a fast-paced multi-project environment, responsible for the delivering the commercial requirements of 10+ jobs at any one time.

Projects cover a variety of upgrade works including civil engineering and mechanical and range in value from £100k - £3m.

All projects are delivered under NEC forms of contract, predominantly using NEC4 Option A.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor looking for a career move. They are also keen to see experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression.

You will have a minimum of 3 years' commercial experience across any construction or civil engineering related industry.

You will have a proven ability to interact with, build, and maintain relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders.

NEC contract experience is desirable however not essential.

Relevant quantity surveying or commercial management degree desirable.
