A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Commercial Manager to join their team in Scotland.

The main objective of the role is to commercially manage a medium sized team delivering the requirements for a major long-term utilities framework in the region.

Key duties will include:

  • Manage and build a high performing commercial team with a focus on structured development and training.
  • Develop and implement clear commercial strategies for contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to framework contractual requirements, identifying change events and managing the change management process where required.
  • Implement, attend, and present at weekly project reviews to interrogate their performance.
  • Interface with the customer, attending regular meetings, and engaging in feedback sessions.
  • Implement cost efficiencies, and forecasting activities, working collaboratively with Contract Directors to ensure visibility and realisation of future work volumes.

Leading a regional commercial team that are responsible for the on-going management of a major utilities framework.

Responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of utilities and associated infrastructure works as part of the framework.

Managing director level stakeholder relationships across the company, as well as interfacing with clients and regional project teams.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 10 years' commercial experience managing and delivering large projects and/or frameworks.

Our client is looking for Commercial Managers looking for a career move. They are also keen to see experienced Managing / Senior Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression with experience of managing small-medium sized teams.

You will have proven experience of interfacing upstream to customers / clients as well as engaging with operational teams and subcontractors to drive the performance of contracts.

Strong negotiation, subcontractor management, and communication skills.

Relevant construction or quantity surveying degree is desirable.
