Senior Quantity Surveyor

A Leading Utilities Subcontractor is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their national commercial team.

The main objective of the role is to manage the commercial administration, reporting and performance on several utilities projects based across the South East.

You will:

  • Negotiate terms, prices, and programme, and produce subcontract documentation.
  • Manage subcontract works packages including payment requests and change / compensation events.
  • Produce and issue all commercial notices to both the client and Subcontractors.
  • Submit monthly payment applications to the client.
  • Liaise with operational and engineering teams to deliver their commercial requirements.
  • Produce detailed monthly Cost Value Reconciliation’s (CVR) reports.

Further Details

Creating and implementing commercial strategies for 5-6 live projects based across the South East, covering water and energy focused works.

Individual project focus on various aspects of MEICA solutions with works including HV and LV systems and cabling, switchgear, distribution, and sub-distribution.

Projects typically range from £500k - £3m, however they can deliver up to £10m in value.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates will have 7-8+ years of quantity surveying experience for a reputable main contractor or subcontractor.

Ideally, you will have 3+ years of experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, our client is also open to Quantity Surveyors with 5+ years of experience who are looking to step up.

You must have experience of delivering NEC contracts across infrastructure projects or frameworks, experience of IChemE is desirable.

You will have strong experience of delivering change management activities such as early warning notices and compensation events.

You must have strong stakeholder management experience, specifically with delivering site teams and client requirements.

Relevant quantity surveying or commercial management degree.
