Buyer (FTC)

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Buyer to join their team in Birmingham on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

The main objective will be to support with buying materials for regional projects.

Key duties will include:

• Operational buying of material requirements for regional civil engineering projects.
• Ensuring projects receive material orders to the required quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
• Negotiating with suppliers that are not covered by frameworks.
• Supporting operational teams with day-to-day challenges on contracts.
• Maximising the use of framework agreements to ensure savings and rebates are achieved.

Buying a wide range of categories including, concrete, timber, small and heavy plant.

Supporting a portfolio of national civil infrastructure projects and frameworks.

Our client is looking for Buyers with 2+ years civil materials buying experience from any sector of construction.

They are open to candidates from contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, or merchants.

They will also consider Assistant Buyers who are looking for career progression.
