Senior Buyer

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Senior Buyer to lead subcontract procurement for Major construction projects, you will:

• Deliver the project procurement strategies for two business units
• Lead end to end subcontract procurement across a wide variety of packages
• Lead material procurement for high value capital equipment orders
• Manage an Assistant Buyer who will support with operational materials procurement
• Deliver internal stakeholder requirements across the two business units

In this varied role you will be managing a wide variety of projects across construction and infrastructure

Leading package and capital equipment procurement across commercial, residential, MEP and utilities projects

• Minimum of 2+ year’s subcontract procurement experience for a main contractor
• Ideally you will currently be working as a Senior Buyer, or an experienced Buyer who is looking for progression
• Must have recent experience of managing construction, MEP or infrastructure projects
• Must have a track record or successfully delivering project procurement strategies
• Strong negotiation, supplier management and communication skills
• Managing small procurement teams is desirable
• Relevant degree or CIPS is desirable
