Procurement Category Manager

A Leading Utilities Provider is looking for a Procurement Category Manager to support national construction projects.

The main objective of the role is to develop and deliver a national category management strategy for company and customer projects.

Key duties will include:

  • Lead a portfolio of strategic and complex direct and indirect categories.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies across your portfolio of goods and services spend.
  • Manage the full end to end category management process, negotiating both new and renewal contracts.
  • Manage supplier relationships, while ensuring company commercial and governance policies are followed.
  • Managing internal stakeholders, ensuring best practices are embedded across the company.
  • Provide regular procurement reporting to the Head of Procurement and senior leadership.

Provide services under full turnkey contracts and framework agreements, with scope of services.

Likely to be managing 4-5 live projects at once, each with 4-5 contracts per project.

To service each project you will buy across a wide selection of categories: Design and professional services, IT / M&E equipment, installation and commissioning services.

Candidate Requirements

Ideal candidates will currently be working as a Category or Procurement Manager or as a Senior Buyer with many years experience and ready for career progression.

Candidates must have at least 5 years strategic procurement experience, managing projects or category strategies.

You will be working for a large complex company, from any industry, with a track record or delivering challenging internal stakeholder requirements.

Experience within the construction, FM or utilities sectors is desirable but not essential.
