A Leading Infrastructure Contractor is looking to recruit a Subcontract Buyer and a Material Buyer to be based on a newly won utilities framework.

The main objective of the role is to support subcontract and material procurement activities across regional framework projects, you will:

  • Support a Procurement Manager in delivering various project procurement strategies.
  • Manage the day to day project procurement of materials or subcontract packages.
  • Manage the tender process for major material / capital equipment or subcontract packages.
  • Place and expedite orders to ensure materials arrive to site on time and to the required quality.
  • Work with project teams to resolve daily operational site challenges with the supply chain.
  • Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project strategies.

Further Details

The Subcontract Buyer will be responsible for running the full end-to-end subcontract procurement process for packages valued up to £1m across a wide selection of utilities and civils packages.

The Material Buyer will support with a wide variety of materials, including major capital equipment procurement with some of the biggest brands in the sector.

These are the first hires in a newly created framework procurement team that will continue to grow over the coming years, this growth will offer good career development opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for Buyers who have experience or procuring materials and / or subcontracts, they would also be open to up and coming Material Buyers who are looking for career progression into subcontract procurement.

You will have 3+ years' project procurement experience from a main contractor, tier 2 contractor or subcontractor, managing any type of infrastructure project.

Any experience of managing NEC contracts would be beneficial.
