Assistant Procurement Manager

A leading construction contractor is looking for an Assistant Procurement Manager to category manage a portfolio of direct materials, you will:

• Develop and deliver a national category strategy across a portfolio of direct construction categories.
• Negotiate direct material category agreements for key categories not currently covered across the business.
• Create detailed excel reports on supply chain spend, present to procurement and senior stakeholders.
• Lead contract and performance management of the supply chain, including leading quarterly reviews.
• Ensure strategic agreements are maximised for each project achieving rebate and compliance targets.

Responsible for a wide selection of construction materials for national projects, including concrete, rebar, doors, ironmongery, MEP.

You will take the lead on influencing new business units to take advantage of group agreements.

Our client is looking for experienced strategic procurement professionals who are working for a leading construction or infrastructure contractor.

They are looking for a Senior Buyer looking for a career move or an experienced Buyer looking for progression.

You will have at least 3 years procurement experience within the construction related industries, with a track record of negotiating direct materials contracts that have achieved significant cost reductions.

Candidates will also have a strong understanding of Excel, with experience of analysing data and making recommendations.
