Senior Buyer

A Leading Infrastructure Contractor is looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to be based on a newly won utilities framework.

The main objective of the role is to lead subcontract procurement activities across regional framework projects, you will:

• Support a Procurement Manager in delivering various project procurement strategies.
• Manage planned and reactive end to end subcontract procurements.
• Manage occasional major material procurements.
• Operational management and coaching of a Subcontract Buyer.
• Work with project teams to deliver procurement requirements.
• Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project strategies.

Will be responsible for running the full end-to-end subcontract procurement process for packages valued up to £5m across a wide selection of utilities and civils pacakges.

Support with major material capital equipment procurement with some of the biggest brands in the sector.

Helping to support the Head of Procurement & Supply chain with a functional change programme, following a department restructure.

Our client is looking for an experienced Subcontract Senior Buyer or an up-and-coming Subcontract Buyer who is ready for career progression.

Ideally you will have 3+ years' subcontract procurement experience from a leading main contractor, managing any type of infrastructure project, using NEC contracts.

You will be a strong negotiator with a track record of successfully managing challenging internal stakeholders.

Some management or supervisory experience would be beneficial, however not essential.
