Quantity Surveyor

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Reading.

The main objective of the role is to deliver the commercial requirements of regional clean and wastewater projects as part of the AMP7 framework.

Key duties will include:

• Responsible for the commercial management of a large project or on several smaller projects.
• Supporting the Managing Quantity Surveyor with the coordinating, reporting, and implementing of commercial directives for projects.
• Ensuring the timely submission of all relevant data required to monitor and analyse individual contract performance monthly.
• Preparing accurate draft subcontracts and/or approving such drafts as prepared by Commercial Team within the region.
• Ensuring prompt and regular submission of payment applications and subsequent cash collection together with the preparation of subcontractor payments.
• Liaising with Project Managers on the day-to-day basis for commercial administration of contracts, ensuring their financial success.
• Involvement in dispute avoidance and resolution.

Delivering a portfolio of clean and wastewater projects as part of AMP7 framework, with individual project values ranging in value up to £30m.

Fast-paced, multi-project environment, with works covering refurbishment, replacement, and maintenance works amongst others.

The role will involve a combination of office based work and weekly site visits across the region.

You will have a minimum of 5 years' commercial experience, assisting with the delivery of infrastructure projects. Any water project experience is desirable.

Must have experience and strong working knowledge of managing NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.

Experience of procuring and managing subcontracts, and an ability to negotiate with clients and subcontractors.
