A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Stevenage.

The main objective of the role is to assist the commercial team in delivering the commercial requirements of a portfolio of regional power projects.

Key duties will include:

  • Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers with day-to-day commercial activities.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontract agreements.
  • Preparing reports and claims to agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain and maximise the profitability of assigned projects.
  • Manage subcontractor variations, payments and reporting.
  • Build on and manage client, supplier, and internal relationships.

A portfolio of framework projects covering the maintenance, refurbishment, reconfiguration and new build of power infrastructure networks in the region.

This will be a high-volume multi-project environment which will require a dynamic and adaptable individual with the ability to handle these demands.

Interfacing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including senior managers, the client and wider commercial and project teams.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 3 years' commercial experience managing the commercial requirements for utilities, infrastructure or general civil engineering projects.

Our client is looking for Quantity Surveyors looking for a career move. They are also keen to see experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression who have managed their own projects.

Experienced in negotiation and subcontractor management, with excellent communication skills.

Relevant construction or quantity surveying degree is desirable.
