A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Head of Procurement to develop and deploy a national procurement strategy, you will:

  • Develop and deploy a national procurement strategy that achieves business goals and objectives.
  • Manage a medium sized procurement department.
  • Support internal stakeholders across the entire procurement process (work winning to project delivery).
  • Lead on supply chain management and strategic procurement activities.
  • Lead strategic reviews and promote collaboration with key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Part of the senior leadership team, presenting reports and analytics to Directors.
  • Manage senior internal stakeholders supply chain requirements.

Managing £150m+ direct material and subcontract spend.

Supporting operational and strategic procurement activities across national infrastructure projects.

Leading a medium sized team across central and project procurement, supply chain management, and compliance.

Managing director level stakeholders across the company and clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering a regional or national procurement strategy.
  • Must have experience of leading and developing small to medium sized procurement teams.
  • Minimum of 5+ year’s strategic procurement experience for an infrastructure contractor, across the highways, rail or utilities industries.
  • Ideally you will currently be working as a Head of Procurement / Supply Chain, or an experienced Senior Procurement / Supply Chain Manager who is looking for career progression.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at director level.
  • Highly resilient, with gravitas and strength of character to ensure strategies are successfully delivered.
  • Demonstrable track record of achievements from previous jobs.
  • Relevant degree or CIPS is desirable.
