A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors to join their team in Birmingham.

The main objective of the role is to deliver the commercial requirements for sections of a major infrastructure project.

Key duties will include:

  • Preparing subcontract invitations to tender, evaluating tender returns and making recommendations to appoint, placing subcontracts accurately and on time.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth commercial progression of contracts.
  • Demonstrating and maintaining high levels of technical and commercial knowledge, working closely with delivery teams to meet business and customer needs.
  • Liaising with Project Managers and Commercial Managers for relevant commercial aspects of projects.
  • Ensuring the company's commercial position is protected through an in-depth understanding and experience of contractual, commercial, and legal processes.

Further Details

The overall project covers a portfolio of rail infrastructure projects including viaducts, overbridges, underbridges, cuttings, culverts, embankments, tunnels, and underpasses.

The section of the project our client is responsible for is split down into a number of sublots, each with their own assigned projects. The projects that you manage and work on will differ dependent on the sublot you are assigned to.

Interfacing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including senior managers, the client and wider commercial and project teams.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' commercial experience managing the commercial requirements for infrastructure or general civil engineering projects.

Strong negotiation, subcontractor management, and communication skills.

Our client is looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors looking for a career move. They are also keen to see experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression who have managed their own projects.

Relevant construction or quantity surveying degree is desirable.
