A leading regulated infrastructure contractor is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

The main objective of the role is to the commercial requirements for a portfolio of regional utilities upgrade and maintenance frameworks and projects.

Key duties will include:

  • Managing cost estimation for projects, including replacement, reinforcement and diversion works.
  • Preparing and presenting internal commercial reports each month.
  • Undertaking day -to-day contract administration, including change management.
  • Negotiating and agreeing of prices, change events, extensions of time claims, and final accounts within required timescales.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with contractors and senior stakeholders.
  • Undertaking monthly accruals and forecasts for the business.
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change.

Further Details

Working in a fast-paced multi-project environment, responsible for the delivering the commercial requirements of 10+ jobs at any one time.

Projects cover a variety of upgrade works including civil engineering and mechanical and range in value from £100k - £3m.

All projects are delivered under NEC forms of contract, predominantly using bespoke forms of NEC4 Option A & E.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor looking for a career move. They are also keen to see experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors looking for career progression.

You will have a minimum of 3 years' commercial experience across any construction or civil engineering related industry.

You will have a proven ability to interact with, build, and maintain relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders.

NEC contract experience is desirable however not essential.

Relevant quantity surveying or commercial management degree desirable.
