A leading engineering contractor is looking for a Category Manager and Senior Category Buyer to strategically manage a portfolio of direct contracts, you will:
- Create and implement category strategies across a portfolio of direct spend
- Run end to end tendering across assigned categories from RFQ to award and contract management
- Work with project teams to ensure they successfully adopt new agreements, helping to solve operational challenges
- Deliver various Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives with key supply chain partners
- Establish strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
The Category Manager role focuses on creating category plans at a high level, together with getting buy in from internal stakeholders to adopt the category plans.
The Senior Category Buyer role focuses on also creating and implementing category plans, running tenders and performance managing the contracts.
Managing a portfolio of direct categories to support engineering and construction projects, category values range from £20m to £100m+ spend per year.
Our client is looking for experienced strategic procurement professionals who have strong experience working for a large engineering, construction or infrastructure contractor.
They are also interested in meeting with strategic procurement professional working in the public sector or regulated industries, managing construction related supply chains.
They are open to looking at either category managers, category buyers, procurement managers or senior buyers who have strong strategic sourcing experience for direct categories of spend.
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate experience of creating category plans, together with supporting project teams operationally.
