Assistant Buyer & Buyer – Civil Engineering (1 Year FTC)

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for an Assistant Buyer and Buyer to support the delivery of regional projects, you will:

  • Support a Procurement Manager in delivering various project procurement strategies
  • Manage the day to day project procurement of materials from existing agreements
  • Negotiate material packages not covered by existing frameworks
  • Work with project teams to deliver procurement requirements
  • Manage various supply chain governance and administration activities
  • Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project strategies

Project / Category Details

Buying a wide selection of civil engineering materials and plant for projects across Highways, Rail and Utilities, all based across London and the South East.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for an experienced Buyer and an up and coming Assistant Buyer who have strong material and plant procurement experience from any reputable main contractor or large subcontractor.

You will have experience of operationally managing projects across infrastructure or construction.

Experience of negotiating with or managing subcontractors will be beneficial as this role will progress into subcontract procurement.
